  • "I can't afford to give gifts for X-Mas"

Every day I hear about another person losing their job or complaining they just don't have enough $ to make X-Mas special. They feel they are failing their children, family, or friends.

    A gift suggestion...

I received a gift when I was young, and just recently I opened it! I opened my mind to the memories. Take the time to make wonderful memories with your family and friends. Give them the gift that only you can give - give them your time, and throw in some love and smiles to make it that much sweeter. In years to come they will still have those sweet gifts.

I can't tell you what toy I got for X-Mas in 1978, but I promise you I remember the stories, laughs and good feelings to be around the ones I love. Every year was a treat, and what would I give for those times now. For the feeling of family and the laughter all around. Stories from elders and mischievous laugh with the youngsters.

Yes, please put your wallet away.

For me, just send a hug and a smile. Maybe a story about the good times just to sweeten the gift. For no matter how old I get, I will never outgrow the gift of love and friendship.

To all that can read this note, I will make a point to think of you all, and smile on that special holiday. In fact the holiday may have already started for me as I reflect on the crazy times I have had with many of you.
